How buying a domain works
Buy now, make an offer, bid, or lease to own - your money is held in escrow until the domain is yours.
Every purchase goes through escrow: you pay USDC on Polygon into the escrow contract, the seller transfers the domain, and the seller is only paid after the domain reaches you.
Ways to buy
- Buy now - pay the listed price.
- Make an offer - the seller can accept, decline or counter. Each offer stays open 72 hours; a negotiation can go back and forth up to 8 rounds.
- Auction - bid at least the next increment. A bid in the last 5 minutes extends the auction, so there is always time to respond.
- Lease to own - pay a down payment and monthly installments; the domain transfers when the last one is paid.
After you pay
- The seller has 5 days to start the transfer.
- You follow the steps on your order page (accept the push, or use the authorization code at your registrar).
- When the domain shows in your registrar account, confirm receipt. The seller is paid then.
- Unpaid orders are cancelled after 72 hours and the domain goes back on sale.
